Environmental Policy with
our Suppliers

Our Policy

The policy of our company is shared by our suppliers of the paper and board materials used in the manufacturing of our stationery lines. Only after research and very careful consideration are suppliers chosen.

Our buyers also regularly make visits to our suppliers, which are mostly based in Northern Europe. In this way we can physically check and investigate for ourselves that they are adhering to our shared vision of "excellent practice" on environmental issues surrounding the manufacture of paper.

We stipulate to our suppliers the following policy:

  • In the timber sourcing they must be committed to protecting the biodiversity of forest habitats as a part of a sustainable forest management programme.
  • They should only purchase wood from sources, which do not compromise the conservation of the biodiversity of the forest.
  • They MUST not use wood from protected areas or areas covered by approved environmental protection programs.
  • They must give top priority to the preservation of threatened silvicolous species and valuable biotopes.
  • They must also co-operate with individuals and organisations representing forest-owners and sellers.
  • They must continuously improve their information and control systems to ensure the practical implementation and supervision of their sourcing and forest management operations.
  • They must develop auditing systems and gain supplier accreditation.
  • They must insist that the companies supplying wood to them observe the same principles of biodiversity protection as the suppliers and ourselves demand. They must also provide the information necessary for verifying the origin of the wood.

When the reels of paper are delivered at our warehouse they are always tested before production. When we feel that the paper is not up to our standard they are rejected and will not be used during production.
